Martin

Having spent 22 years in the world of commercial insurance as a manager and client relationship director, I felt that I had a calling to give something back to society and so I decided to take a career change into the charity sector. After undertaking an excellent programme with the National Council of Voluntary Organisations called "Working for a Charity" - highly recommended if you are planning a similar life-changing move - I was blessed to be able to join ChildAid in July 2006 as Charity Manager.

In managing the direction of the charity and closely working with the Trustees I am involved in all aspects of fundraising, review of the fantastic projects we are involved with, and general management stuff!

My church is Sidcup Baptist where I am a Deacon and actively involved in the youth work. I am married to a wonderful wife and have two beautiful daughters.

Yuriy

I was born in Ukraine and am a graduate of the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, as well as having a degree in Theology. I have knowledge and experience of developing various social projects in Ukraine and Russia. My role as Overseas Projects Manager is to provide the best support to our Partners.

Richard

After many years teaching theology in schools and colleges in England, Sudan and Zimbabwe I joined the charitable sector in the 1990's working in areas such as Christian research, inner-city children and people living with different forms of disability.

I am excited by the diverse ways in which ChildAid seeks to continue to improve the lives of the children we are called to serve.

I worship at St Augustine's, Grove Park where I am a licensed Lay Reader. I am fortunate that my wife, Jacinta, and I live a mere 20 minutes bus ride from the office - such a delight!
