Over recent years ChildAid has been blessed with over £350,000 of legacy gifts. These gifts from one generation to another have been an essential support in helping our partners to transform the lives of children. To give a hope where no such hope could have been dreamt about.

 

The love that you so freely offered on earth need not end when you are with the Father.

 

Our last Will and Testament is a legacy of the acts of love you demonstrated whilst living - to your family, friends and those in the wider family of Christ.

 

If you die without leaving a Will much time (and money) will be wasted sorting out your affairs.

 

Some of those who you may want to receive a gift will be forgotten - others who could benefit so much from even a small legacy will continue their life without hope, love or opportunity.

 

ChildAid has been caring for the lost, the abused and the abandoned in Russia and the surrounding nations for over 35 years. It is with continued sadness that we look upon these nations today and see no end to the pain and the hurt.

The following specimen legacy clauses may be helpful when drawing up your will:

 

 

Legacy Clause Wording for England and Wales

 

I give the sum of £_____(pounds) free of tax to ChildAid to Russia and the Republics (registered charity number 281099) of 5 Walters Yard Bromley BR1 1QA

 

I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer for the time being or other duly authorised officer shall be a sufficient discharge for my Executors/Trustees.

 

 

Residuary legacy

 

I give the whole of my real and personal property not hereby or by any codicil hereto specifically disposed of after payment of my debts pecuniary legacies funeral and administration expenses and any taxes in respect of estate to ChildAid to Russia & the Republics (registered charity number 281099) of 5 Walters Yard Bromley BR1 1PR

 

I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer for the time being or other duly authorised officer shall be a sufficient discharge for my Executors/Trustees.

 

 

Specific legacy

Gifting shares legacy

Legacy Clause Wording for Scotland

 

I direct my Executors/Trustees to pay to ChildAid to Russia and the Republics of 5 Walters Yard (rear of 219 High St) Bromley BR1 1QA (registered charity number 281099) the sum of £______ pounds free of inheritance tax and other fiscal impositions for its general charitable purposes absolutely (to be paid within ___ months of my death and in priority to all other legacies given by this Will or codicils hereto) (as soon as convenient after my death but without interest thereon) and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer for the time being or other duly authorised officer shall be a sufficient discharge for my Executors/Trustees.
