Fundraising at School
Don’t forget that anything you do in schools MUST have the permission of the relevant class teacher(s) and the Headteacher too.
But…
Why not ask the members of your class to support ChildAid and if you can get the whole school involved you will, of course, raise even more funds –and have much more fun.
Make ChildAid your Charity of the Year. This will help us get to know you and your school really well and you will see the difference your money has made over a long period.
Have a “Wear something Black and Yellow Day” or sell black and yellow coloured food at break time. Black and yellow are ChildAid’s colours so everyone will see whom you are supporting. Charge everyone £1 to do so.
As an alternative to this why not have a “back to front day”? Wear all your clothes back to front for a day!
Have an “X factor” or “Our school has talent” competition. Charge your friends £1.00 to audition and £2.00 to come and watch.
Arrange a poetry, story writing or drawing competition about life in one of the countries we work in – Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. Again, charge everyone who takes part about £1 - and don’t forget to give a small prize to the winners.
What about a lunchtime quiz about these countries? Form teams of about 3 or 4 and get someone you trust to ask the questions and not fix the answers! Include a couple of questions about ChildAid to remind people what this is all about. We can help you with the questions and the answers!
Does your school have a Summer fete? Why not have a stall or a sideshow game like hoopla or throwing wet sponges at your classmates and parents – and if you are lucky teachers too!
Nearer Christmas ask your family and friends to buy our Christmas cards and our alternative gifts that last forever?
There are always the tried and tested sponsored something’s too! Like sponsored silence, swims, walks around the playground or grounds and so on. You could also get sponsorship to clean the cars in the car park, or on a snowy day clear paths to get around.
